Vintage Feminine Dress with Moto Jacket

By now you probably know I like juxtaposition.

Plaids with stripes.
Dresses with sneakers.
Neutrals with neons.
Jeans with heels.

Today I am contrasting edgy leather with a light vintage inspired floral.

I really love this floral dress from Loft  and it has a classic vintage style with a tie that cinches around the waist.

I really like floral pattern and the dusty rose color, but without the right styling it can look a bit frumpy.

By putting on a leather motorcycle jacket, it modernizes the dress and adds an edgy touch that makes it easy for transitioning into a night time look.

This navy blue jacket also picks up the color in the flowers.

Typically it is too hot for leather this time of year, but layering at night is common because the evenings can get really cold and unpredictable even if the day is hot and humid.

This leather motorcycle jacket is from 3.1 Philip Lim.

For accessories, I wore my dainty peace sign necklace from Lucky Brand.

These nude peep-toe heels with an ankle strap are from TJ Maxx.

This dress is extremely comfortable and versatile and I hope to wear it a lot this season!

What are you looking forward to wearing? I know you will be seeing a lot of dresses from me in the upcoming months!

Graduation & What I'm Doing Now...

Well, I am officially done with college! I graduated with my BA in Marketing and Public Relations (woot woot!).

These past four years of undergrad have been memorable, and I feel very lucky to have gone to such a great school and have made so many amazing friends and connections.

To say that this spring semester has been stressful would be an understatement. On top of classes, trying to figure out what you want to do with the rest of your life is intense. As you probably would have guessed by now, I love fashion. I always thought I wanted to move to NYC and work in the fashion industry, and that is what I had planned to do post-graduation.

I had everything lined up to move to New York, but then recently received an opportunity to travel the world doing marketing and PR! I will be traveling all over the United States, Mexico, and Europe for a year as a marketing and promotions representative for an non-profit organization called Up with People. I will be starting my job in Denver, Colorado and ending in Rome, Italy.

I will continue to blog on my adventures beginning this summer when I start traveling with the organization. I always thought working in fashion was my calling, and as much as I would love to eventually be a part of this industry, I want to try something new and explore my different interests. I enjoy blogging about fashion on my own terms, and I plan to always do what I love.

Here are some pictures from graduation day. It ended up being a really fun time considering it was 80+ degrees.

I wore a simple dress from Loft in black with a blue stripe, and black wedges that I recently got from Marshalls. I wore my Alex + Ani bracelets, and my black gumdrop Kate Spade necklace.

All of my friends and I decorated the mortar board of our graduation caps. I chose to match the colors in my dress, and put an anchor on it :)

Mike wasn't my photographer today since we both had to worry about graduating ;)

I had an eventful weekend but I am so thankful for the time I got to spend with some amazing people.

Look forward to a post coming soon!

Zoo Day: Wearing Cut-Out Dress and Scarf

Since graduation I have been enjoying my summer break.

Mike and I went to the Cleveland Metropark's Zoo since he has never been before. We decided to go on Monday for the "free day" for county residents, which resulted in a lot of children and crowds, but it was still a lot of fun.

When dressing for the zoo, or any day out in the sun, my #1 thing to put on is sunscreen. Not to sound like a PSA, but it is important to protect your skin! I love Neutrogena ultra-sheer dry touch sunscreen because of the SPF 30, and how to doesn't leave my face feeling greasy.

I also always need sunglasses, and I am obsessed with this black and white pair from Peter Pilotto.

I wore this salmon colored dress from Charming Charlie with a crocheted cut-out detailing on the waist.

To accessorize, I wore a scarf that has both the black and white detailing to match the sunglasses, and the salmon color to match the dress. This colorful and lightweight scarf also has parrots on it, which are adorable for summer.

I wore this simple arrow necklace from Forever 21 underneath.

Converse All-Star's are great for days when you are walking around a lot, and are my favorite summer tennis shoes.

This lighthouse Alex + Ani bracelet was a graduation gift, and my pineapple Alex + Ani bracelet I purchased last year off of Amazon.

The weather ended up being gorgeous, and perfect for spending time outside.

I even made some new friends!

What are you looking forward to doing this summer?

Navy Lace & Stripes (With A Floral Purple Backdrop)

I was immediately inspired when I saw this patch of purple flowers.

My favorite part of spring is all of the flowers blooming at the same time, and I couldn't help but take some photos near these.

If you know anything about me, it is that I love navy and white. Combine it into a striped shirt, and I am sold. So when I found this shirt from Loft with lace sleeves, I knew I needed to purchase it immediately.

This top is perfect because it is a bit heavier and more structured than a t-shirt, but still a soft and comfortable fabric. It easy to dress up or down too!

Plus the lace detailing is gorgeous.

I decided to wear some jeans from Gap with this top, but I am excited to try wearing it with a midi skirt or shorts during the summer.

My white pebble necklace I purchased from Dress Barn, and it is a simple way to accessorize without being too fancy.

I also wore this vintage snake ring which my Mom gave me.

I am going to continue wearing these Pac Sun booties probably until June, or when someone forces me to put them away in my closet.

We have been lucky to have some sunshine after a few cold and rainy days. Hopefully it continues to stay nice outside!

Did I mention I graduate college this weekend? Wait where did the time go?! My next post will be from the new and improved Chelsea, with a Bachelor of Arts degree!
