Casual Maroon Tank & Oversized Sweater

Happy Saturday!

It is supposed to be 50 degrees outside! I can hardly contain my excitement!

March is soon, which means that Spring is on the horizon. I am excited for consistently warmer days, but unfortunately we have to deal with the inconsistent transitional weather from time to time.

A great way to handle 30 degree mornings with 60 degree afternoons is layering! I love pairing oversized sweaters and cardigans with light weight, flowy tops.

This chunky cardigan makes a great contrast against this delicate shirts.

The tank top is from Francesca's and the sweater is from Loft.

A good transitional staple are booties. These 'Chelsea Booties' are from Pac Sun, and are super comfortable, and look great with cuffed jeans.

I layered gold necklaces to complete the look.

Layering necklaces a great way to dress up an outfit and also add an eclectic touch.

The Chicago Flag necklace is from a boutique called Foursided, and the long spiked necklace is from Charming Charlie's.

I love how the gold jewelry looks against this maroon color.

I have been wearing my glasses more often, and I think the brown frames go well with the jewel tones in this look. More recently I have been using them as an accessory in my outfits. You can purchase them from Warby Parker

What are some of your favorite transitional pieces for spring?

Valentines Day Lookbook

When I was a kid, I always enjoyed making my Valentines Day box and filling out valentines for my whole class. As I've gotten older, I have continued the tradition every year by making Valentines Day cards for all of my friends.

I enjoy the holiday because it is a time to share why you love and appreciate the people in your life. Plus you can eat tons of chocolate. Who doesn't love that?

In grade school, I was totally the girl who wore themed shirts with hearts and matching pants to get festive for the day.

Nowadays, I try to keep the hearts on my cards and keep my outfit a little more low key and subtle.

To remain true to the holiday, I wore this red lace dress from Loft.

This dress is perfect for a Valentines Day date.

To balance it out, I paired the dress with blue and gold accents.

My navy blue peacoat is from Target

I paired it with this royal blue Kendra Scott necklace.

I like adding contrasting colors with accessories in my outfits.

To add some sparkle, I wore this cross body bag from Fossil.

My nude bow flats fit the feminine and romantic feel of the outfit.

This dress is easy to dress up and wear out for dinner, or dress down for a daytime look.

Whether you are single and hanging with your girlfriends, or spending the time with your significant other, there is always a reason to celebrate.

And the best part about Valentines Day? The clearance section of chocolate waiting on February 15th.
