Becoming a Jewel Tone Junkie

I am not usually one to wear a large quantity of pattern, but I stumbled upon this colorful paisley dress on the Target clearance rack and I knew it had to be mine.

My eye was drawn to the dress because it did not look like something you would pick off a clearance rack. The fabric is a light weight polyester (which is extremely comfortable), with very rich color, and the cut is incredibly flattering for all body types with a string to synch in at the waist.

Dress: Merona for Target

I immediately become obsessed with the rich jewel tones, and how even though it was a paisley pattern the look is not distracting.

I paired the dress with simple gold accessories.
Necklace: Aeropostale

Bag: Rebecca Minkoff MAC

Boots: Clarks

This dress is a perfect statement piece for a fall day, and I am happy I stepped outside of my comfort zone. The jewel tones and the longer sleeves and cut really help transition this dress for fall and winter. Remember, looking good does not have to cost a lot!

Fall in Love

I can't help but love everything about fall time. I love the holidays and festivities and being close with family and friends. It's not too hot, not too cold- it's the perfect comfortable temperature.

Recently, I fell in love with this wine colored blazer which reminds me of the dark burgundy sweet gum tree leaves of autumn.

Blazer: H&M

I paired the blazer with a black and white striped dress with a mesh cut out down the chest area. I have been skeptical about the revealing trend (I didn't want to look too Miley-esque) but toning it down with a classic piece, such as a blazer provides a classic look while still being sexy.

Dress: Forever 21

Red is often seen as the go-to color that is paired with black and white, but using different hues and shades of purples and burgundies will add interest and variety to your outfit.

I hope you are enjoying your October as much as I am!
