My Best Dressed From the 2014 Grammys

One of the main reasons I watch award shows (particularly the Grammys) is to see the amazing outfits that are on display; both on the red carpet and during performances.

Some of the gowns that I saw were pieces of art, and truly showcased the artists wearing them.

Beyonce was looking incredible in this white applique couture Michael Costello gown. This "naked" dress compliments her body beautifully and the placement of the pattern looks perfect on her curves.

Michael Costello, the 27 year old (also known from Project Runway season 8) is certainly stealing the spotlight from other young designers.

B and Jay Z are perfect. That is all.

I also loved this dress on Taylor Swift by Gucci Premiere.

This dress is extremely glamourous and structured but still soft. I am not sure about these platform Jimmy Choo heels, but otherwise I think she is styled beautifully.

Ciara looked gorgeous in Emilio Pucci.

She looked like a bronze goddess in this embroidered sequin design, while showing off her baby bump. I would have loved to see another color lip to help break up the same tone of the dress, skin, and hair, but otherwise she is gorgeous.

Lastly, I was in love with this look on Giuliana Rancic by Alex Perry.

The orange was just gorgeous on her complexion, and I loved the nude combination with the orange lace.

Being on Fashion Police, Giuliana has an eye for style, and this dress definitely proves it.

Besides bizarre Smokey Bear hats, there were some other looks in my opinion that were missing the mark on the red carpet.

Anna Kendrick is wearing Azzaro, and is beautiful- but I don't think this dress/shoe combo does her justice. The top looks too big on her and doesn't fit well, and the slit seems to come up to far. She has got to choose between showing skin on top or the bottom, and there is a lot going on with this dress. I think it distracts from how beautiful she truly is.

Katy Perry was working with this Valentino Couture gown, which kind of made her look like a poofy, cliche fairy. I get that it is the Grammys, but it bugs me how literal this dress is. I believe Katy Perry is better than this. I also hate the nude sleeves that look like something you would have with a cheap Halloween costume.

Kacey Musgraves, the breakout country star looked pretty in this Armani Prive dress, but the look is overwhelming. Too much tulle- cascading layers and a bow on top. She is beautiful but could use to lose some of the fluff.

However, I thought she looked adorable performing in this short and colorful outfit with light up cowboy boots. Way to redeem yourself.

Overall, I loved most of the Grammys looks and decided to comment on only a few. I hope you enjoyed watching them as much as I did, and are getting excited for the upcoming Oscar Awards!

Best,

The Cats Meow

Nothing makes a Wednesday quite like a cat shirt.
I have been busy transitioning between the freezing cold, and the hopeful Spring days here in Ohio.

I love this blouse from Old Navy, which is a navy blue color with little white cats on it. I love the subtlety of this cat pattern, which adds a whimsical element to the outfit.

Jeans and Brown Boots: Old Navy

Blazer: Telluride (purchased at Marshalls)

This blazer has a navy blue accent in the plaid pattern, which helps tie in the color of the blouse.

Ring & Watch: Kate Spade

Bag: Francesca's

I am enjoying the days here where it gets a little warmer, and I don't need to wear a billion layers. I hope you have a great rest of your week.

Until next time,

One Shade of Grey (And a Little Bit of Red)

Living where I do, you sometimes have those bursts of warm weather right after a crazy snow storm.

This outfit was warn on one of those freaky, warm, 50 degree days (yes, 50 is warm where I am from) where I wanted to be casual and comfortable while running errands and visiting my family.

Surplus Jacket: American Eagle

I love the bold red color of this button down, and the lining of denim chambray within the sleeves and collar.

Button Down: Tommy Hilfiger

Grey Corduroy Pants and Brown Boots: Oldnavy

Tote: Longchamp, Large 'Le Pliage' in Gun Metal

Watch: Michael Kors

Incase you can't tell by now, I love the color grey.

I hope you all are doing well and having great weather wherever you may be!

Until next time,

Green Gingham and Gold

I hope you all are enjoying the week! I have been busy with school, but enjoying the time that I am free with friends.

I wore this casual outfit of mostly neutrals which showcased the colorful green of this button down shirt.

A little pop of green helps make the dreary January weather seem less dull.

Gingham Button Down: C. Wonder

Gold Watch & Bow Ring: Kate Spade

Rebecca Minkoff M.A.C Bag

I topped the look off with my camel colored blazer from Target, and my light brown boots from Clarks. My pants are a navy color with rose gold hardware by the brand Fire

I love wearing gold during the winter time, it is such a warm and inviting color.
Stay warm, and have a lovely rest of your week!

Casual in Lavender

So it is that time of year again. The beginning of the semester has just started to get stressful, and I wish I was back curled up at home drinking tea and watching The Mindy Project.

My outfit consists of a lot of grey, a little bit of purple, and a dash of sparkle. Isn't that the line in the opening intro describing the power puff girls? Anyways...

My lavender stripped chiffon blouse is from American Eagle.

The tote I am carrying is the Longchamp 'Le Pliage' in Gunmetal (which you can look at by clicking here!)

I had heard a lot of great things about this tote, and finally took the plunge to get it. I completely understand having reservations towards purchasing it, but my advice is don't hold back from buying it. It is worth every penny and holds SO MUCH. Plus the new spring colors are incredible. However, I went with my favorite: grey.

Jeweled Cardigan: Target

Watch: Michael Kors

Metallic Flats: Target

This outfit is both comfortable and chic for running errands or going to class.

Have a great start to your week!

XOXOX,

Flatter Yourself in Stripes

It's hump day!

I am wearing one of my favorite body-con style dresses from Gap.

I love this dress because of the panelling of the horizontal grey and navy stripes which are extremely flattering. I also like this dress because it is a thicker cotton material, and a longer length which make it comfortable for dressing down for going out, or dressing up for work.

Over top, I wore this motorcycle-style, burgundy, tweed jacket from Target. I love the color and material of this jacket for winter.

My necklace is a statement piece from JCrew which picks up both the navy and the burgundy colors in the outfit.

Bag: Large 'Le Pliage' tote from Longchamp in Gunmetal (Click here to View)

Brown Boots: Oldnavy

Grey Tights: Spanx

Hope you all have a great day! What are some of your favorite winter pieces you are wearing?

Always,
