Casual Friday in Plaid

Plaid shirts are a casual outfit go-to, and they are great to wear for fall.

I don't usually shop at Talbots but I found a really cute sweater by the brand at a resale shop this summer, therefore I decided I should stop in the store to explore their 70% off clearance sale.

I originally saw this button down shirt during another random Talbots visit when I purchased this anchor sweater. I thought this shirt would be cute to layer underneath, however it was $70 at the time. No thanks.

I ended up purchasing the plaid shirt for $16 dollars during their clearance sale a week ago. Good things come to those who wait for the sale rack!

I paired the top with this royal blue Kendra Scott necklace underneath.

I got this pretty necklace from Nordstrom Rack for 1/3rd of the original price!

This 'capricorn' bracelet is from Kate Spade and adds a fun detail.

I wore my Gap jeans to add to the casual outfit.

My cross-body bag is by Kate Spade and I also purchased it from Nordstrom Rack.

Plus the cross-body style is extremely practical especially when traveling or running errands!

Since it is almost fall, I pulled out these brand new suede booties! I love the little laser cut detailing on them too. These shoes are from American Eagle

I can't believe it is already the weekend. This week flew by for me!

Polka Dots & Floppy Hats

Happy Tuesday! Today I am mixing new pieces with some old favorites for my outfit.

I have fallen in love with the felt floppy hat trend, and have been looking for a maroon color to wear for fall.

It can be difficult for me to find trendy items that look good on, and are also a good price. I love this felt floppy hat from Old Navy because it comes in different sizes, is a beautiful berry color, and is only $15!

You can purchase it by clicking here!

Just as a warning, there will probably be many posts wearing this hat.

The rest of my outfit is monochrome with pattern used to add variety. I wore these vintage cat eye sunglasses in black and white which are pictured on my right hand side.

My polka-dot shirt is one of my favorites from Target.

The peter pan collar of this top make it fun to show off necklaces, and this tortoise shell and jeweled one is from DSW.

I wore my "kissing zebras" bracelet from The Limited

These gold loafers are from Urban Outfitters, and are some of my favorite flats.

This outfit is comfortable for transitioning into fall (especially when it still can get up to 80 degrees, or be as low at 50 degrees).

Which fall trends are you excited to wear?

Art Deco Inspired Dress

Happy Tuesday! I hope you all had a great Labor Day weekend.

In my previous blog post, I talked about H&M's inexpensive and comfortable sun dresses, and in this post I am wearing another one of those dresses in an art deco inspired print.

The rich colors in the pattern of this dress make it an easy transition piece for fall while also being light and comfortable for hot September weather.

I paired it with this simple long tassel necklace which I purchased from Marshall's.

I also wore my dark purple Rebecca Minkoff MAC bag and mirrored aviators to accessorize the look.

My shoes are simple leather flats with a yellow toe from Anthropologie

I love wearing dresses in my every-day look that are comfortable and make your outfit look effortless.

I am in Chicago this week so I am going to be on the look out for great deals and new pieces to add to my fall wardrobe and share with you all!

Until next time,

Palm Print Dress

If you are looking for an affordable and comfortable dress H&M has great options.

I have been in love with tropical palm prints, and I am planning on wearing this dress right up until fall.

H&M comes out with an inexpensive line of dresses each season. I find them easy to wear and very flattering.  I couldn't help but snag a bunch of fun prints for under $10, and this dress was only $4 at an outlet in Colorado!

I paired the dress with a dark blue denim jacket from The Gap.

I wore this Kate Spade cobble hill purse in the color spanish moss.

I paired the look with my Madewell sandals that include a black and green khaki strap to match the colors in the dress.

This outfit is very comfortable while still looking dressed up. I wore this when going out to lunch with my grandma and it was very relaxed while still being put together.

I finished the look with my simple black pendant necklace from Kate Spade.

It is still warm enough for sun dresses here, so I will continue to wear them until the weather tells me otherwise. What piece of clothing are you not ready to give up this season?

Until next time!

Pretty in (Neon) Pink

Happy September!

I am embracing the lingering summer weather by wearing this neon pink tank top from Francesca's Collection.

This style of shirt is one of my favorites. I love it so much that I now own it in 4 colors! The layers are very flattering, and I love the crossed detailing on the back.

I toned down the neon by wearing a light blue floral scarf.

This scarf is from Target and was only $4.98 on clearance!

With bright colors, it is helpful to give the eye a rest by pairing it with muted tones. The scarf breaks up the intensity of the shirt by giving the eye a rest from the bright pink. I also wore jeans from Loft to keep the bottom half of my outfit simple.

Sometimes people are afraid to wear neon because it may seem overbearing, but in reality it is just about balancing the bright colors with neutral ones.

I also wore my Kate Spade Coble Hill bag in the color spanish moss.

This purse is a light green color that works as a neutral in my outfit.

I wore some colorful bracelets (from left to right)
Alex & Ani
The Limited
Kiel James Patrick

I kept my shoes simple by wearing white Converse All-Stars, which are the perfect to be rocking pre-labor day.

I hope you are enjoying the last bit of summer. With big changes happening in my life I am both excited and nervous for what this season will bring!
