Moving to Chicago + Other Life Updates

I am the worst blogger ever. I have been very busy because of so many recent changes in my life.

The first thing is that I am officially living in Chicago! I have always wanted to live in the city, and I am so excited that it is now a reality. However, this whole move was extremely unexpected.

I came to Chicago two weeks ago for job interviews, and ended up getting a job offer that same week. I had planned to move to Chicago within the coming months, but I wasn't prepared to make the official move so soon.

The second reason why I haven't blogged is because I have been living out of a suitcase. I don't have many of my clothes with me, and I have been making due with what brought (luckily my job is casual so I don't need any business clothing).

The third reason is that I just started my job at a public relations agency last week where I am doing social media (which I love). That has been my main focus right now and when I come home from work I am ready to just relax and get away from the computer.

Lastly, I have been busy trying to find a place to live. I found an apartment and a roommate in the past week, and now I am officially bringing all my things from Cleveland to Chicago this coming weekend. Somehow this big puzzle is all coming together!

Dress: American Eagle | Necklace: Nordstrom Rack | Booties: Pac Sun | Purse: Kate Spade

I plan to blog more once I am settled into my new place. These pictures were from when it was a little warmer in Chicago, but still I love this dress for fall!

Until next time,

Casual Friday in Plaid

Plaid shirts are a casual outfit go-to, and they are great to wear for fall.

I don't usually shop at Talbots but I found a really cute sweater by the brand at a resale shop this summer, therefore I decided I should stop in the store to explore their 70% off clearance sale.

I originally saw this button down shirt during another random Talbots visit when I purchased this anchor sweater. I thought this shirt would be cute to layer underneath, however it was $70 at the time. No thanks.

I ended up purchasing the plaid shirt for $16 dollars during their clearance sale a week ago. Good things come to those who wait for the sale rack!

I paired the top with this royal blue Kendra Scott necklace underneath.

I got this pretty necklace from Nordstrom Rack for 1/3rd of the original price!

This 'capricorn' bracelet is from Kate Spade and adds a fun detail.

I wore my Gap jeans to add to the casual outfit.

My cross-body bag is by Kate Spade and I also purchased it from Nordstrom Rack.

Plus the cross-body style is extremely practical especially when traveling or running errands!

Since it is almost fall, I pulled out these brand new suede booties! I love the little laser cut detailing on them too. These shoes are from American Eagle

I can't believe it is already the weekend. This week flew by for me!

What are some of your favorite things to wear for casual Fridays?

Polka Dots & Floppy Hats

Happy Tuesday! Today I am mixing new pieces with some old favorites for my outfit.

I have fallen in love with the felt floppy hat trend, and have been looking for a maroon color to wear for fall.

It can be difficult for me to find trendy items that look good on, and are also a good price. I love this felt floppy hat from Old Navy because it comes in different sizes, is a beautiful berry color, and is only $15!

You can purchase it by clicking here!

Just as a warning, there will probably be many posts wearing this hat.

The rest of my outfit is monochrome with pattern used to add variety. I wore these vintage cat eye sunglasses in black and white which are pictured on my right hand side.

My polka-dot shirt is one of my favorites from Target.

The peter pan collar of this top make it fun to show off necklaces, and this tortoise shell and jeweled one is from DSW.

I wore my "kissing zebras" bracelet from The Limited

These gold loafers are from Urban Outfitters, and are some of my favorite flats.

This outfit is comfortable for transitioning into fall (especially when it still can get up to 80 degrees, or be as low at 50 degrees).

Which fall trends are you excited to wear?

Art Deco Inspired Dress

Happy Tuesday! I hope you all had a great Labor Day weekend.

In my previous blog post, I talked about H&M's inexpensive and comfortable sun dresses, and in this post I am wearing another one of those dresses in an art deco inspired print.

The rich colors in the pattern of this dress make it an easy transition piece for fall while also being light and comfortable for hot September weather.

I paired it with this simple long tassel necklace which I purchased from Marshall's.

I also wore my dark purple Rebecca Minkoff MAC bag and mirrored aviators to accessorize the look.

My shoes are simple leather flats with a yellow toe from Anthropologie

I love wearing dresses in my every-day look that are comfortable and make your outfit look effortless.

I am in Chicago this week so I am going to be on the look out for great deals and new pieces to add to my fall wardrobe and share with you all!

Until next time,
