Fall Days with Plaid and Patterns

I love fall. And even though it is November, we still are having some beautiful weather in Chicago. It is enjoyable to walk outside during my commute to work in the morning.

Another one of my favorite parts of fall is layering with scarves.

This fuchsia and tan blanket scarf is perfect for keeping cozy.

I purchased this scarf from Charming Charlie, and it is one of my favorites.

Is styled this scarf over a black blouse with a subtle pattern.

Layering with patterns may seem intimidating, but I stuck with a simple and small pattern for my top, and picked up the fuchsia in the shirt with the larger plaid pattern of the scarf.

Contrasting colors and patterns when layering is a fun way to add variety into your fall wardrobe.

I purchased this shirt from Hollister.  I usually don't shop there, but they had some nice shirts on sale that were different from what I remembered from the 7th grade.

I like the detail on the bottom of the shirt, and the asymmetrical cut.

My boots are Sam Edelman that I purchased last February at the Nordstrom Half-Yearly sale.

This simple cross-body bag is from Forever 21. It has come in handy over the years, and I never have to worry about protecting it for the weather.

I love that this outfit is comfortable yet a polished look for fall.

I have officially been in Chicago for a month. It has been a whirlwind adjusting and settling in, which  is why I haven't been good about blogging.

Lately, I have been focused on trying to keep up with the warm days and the freezing windy days. It may be 70 degrees, and then 30 degrees the next day. I am constantly either too cold, or sweating, but overall it has been nice.

With Thanksgiving next week, I will be heading back to Cleveland to spend time with my family. I am excited to be home and to relax for a week.

I can't believe that the holidays are already here! Are you doing anything exciting to celebrate?

Until next time,
