I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving holiday! I spent most of my weekend going shopping for holiday presents and spending time with family, plus catching up on the immense amount of work that I have to do for this week.
Yesterday I went out to lunch with my Grandma before heading back to school to start that pre-finals grind.
I have been in love with the Houndstooth trend as well as pairing it with bright colors and mixing and matching patterns.
I am a 100% believer in saving good quality older items. I originally bought this coat from Express when I was 13 (so, 7 years ago) to wear for Bar/Bat Mitzvahs. I honestly barely wore it at the time, but it is still in perfect condition to wear now. Trends come back in style, so never give away or throw something out that you can wear again in the future!
Houndstooth is extremely popular for this winter, you can find it in sweaters, dresses, scarves, and coats just about everywhere. Here are a few of my favorites that I spotted online:
I paired this coat with a short sleeve chiffon pink top. The bright color plays a great contrast to the black and white pattern.

I wore heels with a mix of bright colors to finish off the look. I love mixing patterns, and these shoes are an extra pop of color that works well with the other pieces.

I finished it off with a simple bag in a greyish beige color.
